The Banzai Pipeline: where legends are born

The subject of films and the song, it is almost normal that most iconic surf wave owes its name to Hollywood. In December of 1961 producer Bruce Brown of Scouting for new locations when there has just arrived in ranger on an unknown then Banzai Beach to capture some images of Phil Edwards surf. At the time Kameahameah highway had an underground pipeline installed to help with drainage along the road. It has been suggested that this pause should be named pipeline, thus the "Banzai Pipeline" was born.

Apart from the waves, it is the danger that has helped the legend of fuel Pipeline. Breaking in shallow water, just over a reef of razor, vague epic of the Pipeline are a song siren to Internet users around the world. When the pipeline is on, it is a thing of beauty. The gigantic waves with postcard as barrels are sufficient to let anyone in awe. Surf is divided into two groups. those who have served pipeline and everyone.

The legends who made their name off the coast of pipeline read like a directory of surf: Tom Carroll, Sunny Garcia, Rob Machado, Kelly Slater, the list goes on and on. It is true that pipeline made of legends, she has demonstrated repeatedly and repeatedly, that it is a harsh Mistress which takes as many has she returns him the name "murderous wave of the world". There is a long list of surfers and photographers who have met their end in the pipeline.

If you are ever on the North coast of Hawaii, making the trip to see the Banzai Pipeline. If you choose to paddle, make sure that you stay safe, it is over your head and above all; meet line-up. Pipeline Posse (a group of surfers of the informally maintain order at the break) have little tolerance for people, and you may find yourself on the shore in little time (and with a broken plank) probably.
